2/15/2024 0 Comments Steam raspberry pi 4Installing Steam Link via swetoast’s Steam Link Launcher worked well too… but once setup the video stream from the host Steam machine is pitch black. (Thanks or all the hard work that goes into making this happen!) Everything is smooth and works well with my 4K projector. I would be willing to look at something like a Jetson board, but it sounds like it's RPi or bust for arm on linux.I recently upgraded my OSMC setup from a Pi 3+ to a Pi 4. As a bonus, I could use it as a steam link, but the fact that it's an ARM linux machine is a required feature for me nothing apple, android, or chromeOS is not going to be acceptable for me. Has Valve stated anything publicly about future plans to improve Steam Link on the 4?įor some context: I'm looking to get a cheap ARM Linux machine to do ARM-on-Linux things with. Is there any reason to prefer the 3 to the 4 in January of 2021?Īre there any reasons to prefer the 4 to the 3? (4k I guess?) Has Steam Link on the Raspberry Pi 4 achieved feature parity with the 3? Valve still lists specifically the 3B and 3B+, but not the 4 as supported devices There are lots of complaints about the 4, but much of it seems to be 6 months old or older Work is being done to improve Steam Link on the 4 (references to it in patch notes)Ĥk support exists for the 4, and not the 3 Steam Link works great on a 3B or 3B+, and performs worse on a 4. I'm trying to figure out the current status of Steam Link on Raspberry Pi 4.
